The Girl Scouts of Southwest Georgia present the new VIVA incentive program.
We appreciate everything you do as volunteers.
VIVA cards are good for the 2005-2006 membership year.
(Expiration = September 30, 2006)
(Start date=August 6, 2005:
points can only be earned for criteria reached on or after this date)
WAYS TO USE YOUR VIVA CREDIT
Council sponsored Program Event—girl or adult fees
Camping—Camp Okitayakani camping fees
Training—registration fees
Resident Camp– girl fees
Council Shop (Albany or Valdosta) - ADULT Clothing
TO VALIDATE CREDITS:
· Card must be initialed by Service Unit Manager or Council Staff for each activity within 30 days of the activity—no exceptions
· Cards will be available from the Field Executive in your area
· To use accumulated credits, card MUST accompany each activity registration.
HOW TO EARN VIVA CREDITS:**
Every ten points earned is worth $1.
1 Point:
· Earned for every girl from your troop that attends a Council Program
5 Points:
· Attend a SU Meeting
· Complete Orientation training
· Attend a Council workshop such as Songs, Games, Crafts, Ceremonies, or Bridging
· Help with a recruitment
· Earn for each new girl added to your troop
· Earn for each girl re-registered by July 1st
10 Points:
· Attend Cookie Training
· Conduct an adult workshop at your SU Meeting
· Register your troop by Sept 30
· Serve as a Day Camp Volunteer
· Trainers earn for each training conducted
· Turn in Troop Financial Report by June 15th
· Earn for each hour of volunteer time at Albany office or Valdosta Service Center
· Earn for each Deadline met: RSVPs, Registrations, etc (Council or SU event)
· For every community service project completed by your troop
· Earn for troop completion of a council box program
· By submitting materials to and publishing SU newsletter
· Plan a troop event for Girl Scout Week, Thinking Day, Juliette Low Birthday
25 Points:
· Present and help implement a S.M.A.R.T. Program idea
· Become a member of the ΓΓΣ advisory board
· Attend the Annual Council Meeting
· Attend Basic Troop Camp Course
50 Points:
· Become a member of your Service Unit Team
· Serve on a council committee
· Become an E.L.F.
· Assist with Gold/Silver Court
· Attend your Association Meeting
· Visit Juliette Low’s Birthplace
· Serve as Troop Cookie Chair
· Earn 50 points for EACH girl in your troop that completes requirements for Gold/Silver/or Bronze Awards
· Create a troop website
· Get your girl scout troop into local paper (SU or Troop level; cannot be both)
· Submit an article for publication into the Flint & Flame
100 Points:
· Become a council trainer
· Attend Service Team Training
· Serve as Service Unit Cookie Chair
· Manage a Council or Area event or Day Camp
· Sponsor an adult clean-up at a local Girl Scout Service Center
· Develop a Troop/Group in a community center, day care, Head Start center, in-school, homeless shelter, etc
· Complete orientation, BLT, age-level training with in 3 months of signing volunteer agreements.
150 Points:
· Become a Girl Scout Lifeguard*
· Become Small Watercraft certified*
· Become 1st Aid / CPR certified*
200 Points:
· Become an Outdoor Skills Trainer*
· Volunteer for Program at Summer Resident Camp
250 Points:
· Create and Maintain a SU website (one-time only credit)
*Must fulfill volunteer opportunities required by this position
** Please keep in mind that specific activities may not be worth the same amount of points from year to year. We reserve to keep it interesting and see what types of new avenues you all will take to be empowered through Girl Scouts.
